1442764 Hair dryers ROBERT KRUPS 13 Sept 1973 [17 Feb 1973] 43132/73 Heading A5R A hair dryer, Figs. 1, 2, comprises a collapsible hood 10 with double walls 12, 13 and hoses 15 having rigid couplings 16 connectable to a connecting nozzle 17 of a hot air blower 11 which inflates the hood and supplies warm air to the user's head through apertures 14. A carrier strap 20 passes round the user's neck, through the strap guides 22 on couplings 16 and fixes to pegs 23 on the flat cylindrical blower housing 29 constructed of two shells. Projections 28 support the nozzle 17 to which electric heating elements 26, fan motor 25 and fan 24 are attached. The lower portions of flexible walls 18 within hoses 15 are air-tightly joined on the user's neck sides to hose walls 19, with their ends being free and acting as valves to permit the supply of heated air to the hood but prevent air flowing out from the hood. The extension pieces may converge to form a common air inlet 30 in the embodiment of Fig. 5, which inlet connects with the blower air outlet nozzle 31 by an elastic ring 32 thereon mating with a nozzle shoulder 34. The nozzle 31 may be oval and the shoulder 34 provided only at the regions of greatest curvature, tear-resistant lugs 35 on the inlet 30 also being provided in these regions. The carrier strap 20 slides through coupling pieces 36 with coupling heads 37 which lock with a rotary action into elongated holes 38 in the housing 29. In a further modification (Fig. 4, not shown), a rubber ring on the air inlet mates with an annular groove on the connecting nozzle.
