1442700 Counterbalancing apparatus transferring liquid cargoes NIGATA ENG CO Ltd 29 May 1974 [6 June 1973] 23835/74 Headings B8B and B8E A fluid loading device of the type including an upwardly extending hollow support 7 on which is pivotally mounted at 8 an inner hollow arm 1 in turn pivotally mounting at 9 an outer hollow arm 2 comprises a first polygonal cam plate 11 mounted on the arm 2 for rotation therewith about pivot 8 and a second similar polygonal cam plate 12 pivotally mounted on the inner arm 1, all the pivotal axes being parallel. A balancing weight 6 is mounted to the plate 12 radially outward of its pivotal axis and in a circumferential position related to the circumferential position of the arm 2 relative to the plate 11. An endless loop 13 of linked rods 13f is trained about the plates 11, 12 for causing them to rotate together, the length of the rods 13f being equal to 1/n times the length of one side of the polygonal cam plates 11, 12, where n is an integer.
