Abstract

1441960 Gripping tools AMP Inc 19 Sept 1973 [29 Sept 1972] 44059/73 Heading B4W [Also in Division H2] An extraction tool for releasing and removing an electrical plug from a socket comprises handles 91 pivoted at 93 or 94 to set jaws 92 extending from the handles to suit two different sizes of plug. A spring 110 biases the handles outwardly and stops 106, 108 formed by the ends of slots through which a screw 104 extends limit the travel of the arms. Teeth 95 provided on the jaws deflect a latching arm or arms on the plug to release the plug from the socket.
