Abstract

1441551 Rabble cleaning device AMAX Inc 5 Nov 1974 [7 March 1974] 47830/74 Heading F4B A cleaning device for a furnace rabble arm 21 extending radially outwards from a vertical rotating shaft 14, comprises a hammer assembly 34 (Fig. 7) with a supporting shaft 35 pivotally mounted in slots 40A which are east as an integral part of the rabble arm. Rigidly attached to the shaft 35 are crank arms 41 supporting a bar weight member 42 that lies in contact with each of the blades 31 of the rabble arm. As the arm rotates around the hearth, a cam-reacting member 36, with roller 37, attached at one end of the shaft 35, contacts a stationary cam 38 attached to the wall of the hearth which raises and then releases the bar 42 so that it drops a height H (Fig. 6) and strikes all the blades 31 to dislodge adhering particulate material.
