Abstract

1441021 Reactive pyrene dyestuffs IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 Dec 1973 [5 Jan 1973] 730/73 Heading C4P [Also in Division C2] Novel reactive pyrene dyestuffs have the formula wherein n is 2 toÀ6, R is H or a C 1 -C 4 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl radical, and Z is a cellulosereactive group. Examples of Z include #-sulphatoethylsulphone, α,#-unsaturated acyl radicals of aliphatic carboxylic acids, e.g. acrylic acid, and which may be halogenated, chloro- and bromo-propionic acids, tetrafluorocyclobutane carbonyl, and heterocyclic rings containing 2 or 3 N atoms and at least one reactive substitutent on a carbon atom of the ring. The dyes give fluoroescent greenish-yellow shades with a variety of textile materials such as wool, silk, leather, superpolyamides, cotton, linen and viscose rayon.
