Abstract
1440920 Formamidines and their use as pesticides BOOTS CO Ltd 23 Oct 1973 [25 Oct 1972] 49245/72 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the general Formula (I) or in which X is 2,4-dimethylphenyl and Y is hydrogen, an aliphatic group, a heterocyclic group, or an aryl group directly linked through a ring carbon atom. The compounds of Formula I can be prepared by a process which comprises reacting N-2,4-dimethylphenyl-, N<SP>1</SP>-methyl formamidine with (a) formic acid or a formate ester when Y is hydrogen, or (b) a compound of the general formula YCOZ in which Z is -OH, halogen or -OCOY, when Y is an aliphatic group, a heterocylic group or an aryl group directly linked through a ring carbon atom. The compounds are used as pesticides.
