Abstract

1440113 Lubricants; fuels UOP Inc 28 Aug 1973 [28 Aug 1972] 40463/73 Headings C5F and C5G [Also in Division C2] The pour point of a hydrocarbon oil is improved by incorporating in it the salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid or abietic acid and an amine comprising dioctadecylamine (e.g. hydrogenated N,N-ditallowamine). The oil may also contain a salt of the above amine and an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic carboxylic acid which act synergistically with the aromatic or abietic salt.
