Abstract
1439753 Organotin compounds as stabilizers ALBRIGHT & WILSON Ltd 10 May 1973 [10 May 1972] 22460/73 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] A halogenated resin, particularly PVC, is stabilized by incorporation therein of a diorganotin compound containing a grouping (n=1-6), which compound is prepared by reacting R 1 R 2 SnO or R 1 R 2 SnHal 2 with an intermediate containing 1 or 2 SH groups per molecule and produced by reacting pentaerythritol or a triol (HOCH 2 ) 3 CR 7 with and with one or more blocking agents where R 1 and R 2 are cycloalkyl, phenyl or C 1-20 alkyl, Hal is halogen and R 7 is H or C 1-4 alkyl. The resin composition may also include monobutyl tin tris(iso-octylthioglycollate), diorganotin cyclic mercaptocarboxylates, plasticizers, hindered phenols, phosphites, thiophosphites, epoxides or metal soap stabilizers. In an example, the compounds and are each incorporated into PVC compositions.
