1438896 Closing-off a water-slope channel SOC GENERALE DE TECHNIQUES ET D'ETUDES and J AUBERT 28 May 1974 [29 June 1973] 23658/74 Heading E1H A water-slope channel 1 used for inland navigation has a floor 2, side walls 3 and a retention barrier 6 displaceable between the upstream end 4 and the downstream end 5 of the water-slope. Rollers 13, 14 between the barrier and the channel floor and side walls and seals between the rollers and the barrier limit water infiltration in the channel. Each seal comprises a rigid strip 27 extending along the length of a roller and runner wheels 35 maintain a constant clearance between a strip and the surface of the associated roller.
