Abstract

1438704 Developing apparatus XEROX CORP 22 Nov 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 54233/73 Heading G2H To prevent escape of developer powder from an electrostatographic apparatus seals 10 are provided between the developer housing 12 and the sensitive surface 14. Each seal comprises a resilient strip 22 and cantilevered therefrom a series of overlapping vanes 26. The vanes are angled in the direction of movement of the surface 14, see Fig. 2. The vanes deflect developer particles away from the edges of the surface and thus decrease their chance of escape. The strip and vanes may be integrally formed from an elastomeric material.
