Abstract

1438522 Automatic control of registration SOC ANON ALUSUISSE 15 Aug 1973 [29 Aug 1972] 38654/73 Heading G3R A web-fed printing machine having two printing cylinders is also provided with a system maintaining registration. Length-measuring device 1 produces a pulse for each increment of length. Detector 2 detects marks on the web spaced by the increment of length. A counting device is activated upon passage of a mark through the detector 2, the counting device counting a number n of pulses from device 1. At the end of the counting of the n pulses, a time interval is determined between this nth pulse, and the passage of the nth mark as determined by the detector 2. This time interval is converted into a length, and the web path altered by this length. The web path may be altered by movable roller assembly 4.
