Abstract

1437619 Zoom lenses JOS SCHNEIDER & CO OPTISCHE WERKE 29 Aug 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 40628/73 Heading G2J A zoom lens operating mechanism comprises two variable sections 1, 2, in each of which are arranged two axially displaceable lens components 11, 12; 13, 14 which are axially and mutually displaceable along cam or guide tracks 3, 4; 5, 6, mounted in the variable sections, the rotation of the variable sections being effected by a central drive 18 via a transmission 19, 20, 21. In the arrangement shown, additional control of the relative aperture is effected by gear-wheel 28 on shaft 21 which rotates the diaphragm housing 17 via a further gear 29. In another arrangement, Fig. 2 (not shown) a differential gear is placed between the drive gear and the toothed rims 22, 23 of the sections 1, 2.
