Abstract
1437305 Orientating pins VIRO INNOCENTI SpA 4 July 1974 [9 July 1973] 29733/74 Heading B8S Pins having a blunt end and a conical end are orientated with their conical end forwards for discharge from a hopper. Fig. 2 shows a plan view of a rotatable separating disc 6 in the bottom of a hopper. The disc is preferably inclined, and has at least one ring of rectangular pin-receiving holes 10, each hole having a trailing end at which the thickness of the disc is less than the diameter of the pin. If the pin is incorrectly orientated in the hole, see Fig. 8, it is more likely to fall out by gravity, by an air blast directed at it from nozzles 16, or finally, by pressure from selector stop 21. If the pin is correctly orientated however, the conical end slips under stop 21 which is spring-biased and falls into an outlet aperture (not shown).
