Specifically the curve P which is the locus of all the points I<SP>1</SP> corresponding to the apparent points of reflection of incident rays, Fig. 4, is required to be parabolic and equations are given from which corresponding points on the inside and outside surfaces, Si and S e , are derived. The distance between the inside and outside surfaces may be constant; alternatively, Fig. 3, the inside surface S i may be disposed at a constant distance from the parabolic contour P. The outside of the surface S e is provided with an aluminium reflecting layer a. The mass of the reflector may be coloured.
