1436602 Indicators for switches RUDOLF SCHADOW GmbH 24 Sept 1973 44586/73 Heading H1N An indicator 7, Fig. 1b, for the pushbutton 5 of an electric switch comprises two indicating surfaces 8a, 8b set at an angle to each other and mounted on a common axis which is moved during actuation of the button 5 in such a manner that each indicating surface 8a, 8b is alternately brought adjacent an end window 6 of the button 5. In the example of Fig. 1b a pair of pivot pins engaged in holes 17 are mounted on a pair of arms 10b pivoted at 16b on opposite sides of the window 6 and are moved from side to side by a swinging frame 9 pivoted at 13a at the rear end of the button 5 and having radial slots 20 engageable with the pins in the holes 17. U-shaped springs 11 mounted on the fixed frame 4 have projections 15b engageable with cam faces 14 on the frame 9 and cause the frame 9 to pivot in one direction when the button 5 is depressed and in the opposite direction when the button 5 is released, whereby one or other of the surfaces 8a, 8b is swung into the viewing position. In a modification projections (19a), (19b), Fig. 3b (not shown) on the button 5 engage the edges of the indicator 7 to assist its side to side swing- ing. In a further modification the indicator 24, Fig. 4b has teeth 27a on a quadrant engaged by a fixed rack 28a on the button whereby the indicator is caused to rotate as it is swung from side to side by arm 22.
