1436155 Electro-chemical electrode H LIST 16 Oct 1973 [16 Oct 1972] 48119/73 Heading G1N A leak structure in a reference electro-chemical electrode comprises a hole 6 closed by a porous, surface refined synthetic material. The synthetic material may be cellulose, a cellulose ester or a hydrophilic organic material and comprises a disc which has been surfaced refined by rolling, pressing or thermal treatment to a depth of 0À1-0À5 mm. It is held in place with the finished side outside by gasket 7 in screwed cap 9 which has an aperture 10. The reference electrode is a reversible electrode of the second type and may be calomel or Ag/AgCl.
