Abstract

1436131 Feeding and opening valved sacks GREIF-WERK ERNST MAHLKUCH 17 Aug 1973 [17 Aug 1972] 39101/73 Heading B8C Apparatus for feeding valved sacks to filling tubes 7 comprises a device 11 for picking a sack off a stack 6 and moving it into a vertical plane, an arm 5 movable along a horizontal guide 4 to receive a sack from device 11, the guide being pivotable about its longitudinal axis to move a sack downwardly on to a tube 7, a suction cup 42 on a lever arrangement 39 to open a valve, and switches to halt the arm at an empty tube. The device 11 comprises suction cups mounted on arms 15 which at one end are slidably mounted on pins 17 and at the other end are articulated to an arm 14 pivotable between a vertical and a'horizontal position. The guide 4 may comprise spaced rods 4 or a single rod of polygonal section. The arm 5 is displaceable along the guide by a cable drive or rack or pneumatically or hydraulically. The suction cups may be replaced by clamps or clips.
