Abstract

1435287 N - carboxy - α - chloro - # - aminocaproic acids STAMICARBON BV 22 Oct 1974 [26 Oct 1973] 45627/74 Heading C2C Novel caproic acid derivatives of general formula or salts thereof, where R is a C 1-12 hydrocarbon group, and the corresponding lactam are prepared by reacting an appropriate N-alkoxycarbonyl substituted 2-chloro-azacycloheptene- 2 with a hypochlorite to give the corresponding α-chloro-#-caprolactam which is converted to the desired caproic acid derivative (I) by hydrolysis. In the examples N-methoxycarbonyl - α - chloro - # - aminocaproic acid is prepared. Lysine is obtained from a compound of Formula (I) by aminolysis and hydrolysis of the intermediate.
