Abstract

1435033 Bending metal rods DFMARCELLO 23 Jan 1974 [16 Feb 1973] 3241/74 Heading B3E Apparatus for bending rods comprises two bending units 14, 15 movable towards and away from each other, Fig. 11, by wheels 17 on rails 18, Fig. 1, so that both ends of a stack of rods C are bent simultaneously the units being operable to bend the rods in either direction. Fig. 1 shows a bending unit including a wheeled base A including a replaceable bifurcated former 1 between the limbs of which the rods are laid. A head B is pivotable on base A by cylinder 2, and includes a control panel and a replaceable bending pin 4 on rotatable disc 3 so that the rods can be bent by the pin around either limb of former 1. A bar 8 has a scale enabling the distance between bends to be measured, and the bar supports a rod support D, Figs. 9 and 11, comprising opposed clamp faces 9, 10 movable together by wheel 11, and a clamp head 13 raised and lowered by cylinder 14.
