1433855 Process for preparing D-penicillamine DEUTSCHE GOLD UND SILBERSCHEIDEANSTALT 25 Jan 1974 [27 Jan 1973] 03488/74 Heading C2C A novel process for obtaining D-penicillamine comprises resolving protected D,L-penicillamine with 1-pseudonorephedrine or a salt thereof. D,L - 3 - formyl - 2,2,5,5 - tetramethylthiazolidine - 4 - carboxylic acid and D,L - 3 - formyl- 2,2 - pentamethylene - 5,5 - dimethylthiazolidine- 4-carboxylio acid may be prepared by reacting D,L-penicillamine with acetone or cyclohexanone respectively followed by formylation.
