Abstract
1433535 Diglycolic acid WACKER-CHEMIE GmbH 7 Sept 1973 [8 Sept 1972] 42141/73 Heading C2C Diglycolic acid is prepared by oxidizing diethylene glycol with nitric acid, and oxygen may or may not be supplied. The reaction is performed at from 35‹ to 80‹ C., with a nitric acid concentration of 30 to 65% in an excess of 0À4 to 16 moles per mole of diethylene glycol with a reaction time of from 0À5 to 15 hours, and may be continuous or discontinuous.
