Abstract

1432980 Rupturable containers POLAROID CORP 19 Oct 1973 [25 Oct 1972] 48863/73 Heading G2X A rupturable container holding photographic processing material is divided into a number of compartments, the compartment at each end being trapezium-shaped, the shorter of the parallel sides of each trapezium being the rupturable edge. As shown, the container is divided into three separate compartments or pods 21. Under pressure, these rupture along the forward edge 22. The outer pods 24 are trapezium-shaped, with the shorter parallel edges weakened during manufacture so that these are the edges which rupture and through which the processing material passes out. This arrangement produces a more uniform distribution of the processing material over the area to be covered, ensuring that the outer corners are adequately supplied.
