Abstract

143,261. Siemens & Halske Akt.-Ges. July 3, 1917, [Convention date]. R÷ntgen-ray apparatus.-To intensify the action of R÷ntgen rays on a photographic plate, a series of layers c, d, e, f, g, of bodies of uniform composition from which secondary radiations are produced, are superposed directly in contact with the sensitive film h on the glass support b. Substances with different atomic weights are chosen and so arranged that the substances follow one another towards the plate with decreasing atomic weight. Brightly polished foils or layers consisting of silver, tin, tellurium, iodine, tantalum, wolfram, osmium, platinum, gold, mercury, thallium, lead, and bismuth, or alloys or compositions containing these substances may be used.
