Abstract

1432203 Inserting oversize members into sleeves XEROX CORP 25 June 1973 30003/73 Headings F2S and F2U A sleeve 5 is resiliently mounted on a member 1 by winding resilient tubing 2 round the member 1 (Fig. 1) evacuating the tubing 2 and sliding the sleeve 5 over the member 1 (Fig. 2, not shown) and finally (Fig. 3, not shown) allowing the tubing 2 to recover to grip the sleeve 5. The recovery of the tubing may be aided by pumping fluid through it. Should the sleeve 5 wear out it can be replaced by evacuating the tubing, sliding the old sleeve off and a new sleeve on, and again allowing the tubing to recover. The air or liquid used for recovery may be sealed in the tubing to supplement the resiliency of the tubing itself in the assembled mounting.
