1432186 Magnetic disc recorder SONY CORP 16 Aug 1973 [17 Aug 1972] 38734/73 Heading G5R In a magnetic disc record/playback arrangement in which is pliable disc record 1 is driven by motor M and is scanned by a head assembly mounted in a gap 4 in back plate 3, the assembly includes a head 5 mounted in a slot 63 formed in a slider plate 6 which on its surface directed towards the record is formed with a air groove 62 between the main plane portion of the surface incorporating the air gap of the head and an inclined portion 61. Air entrained between the rotating record and the inclined portion 61 escapes via the groove 62 allowing the record to move over the plane portion in contact therewith.
