1431901 Road-traffic signals PLESSEY CO Ltd 15 June 1973 [15 March 1972] 11956/72 Heading G4Q In a traffic signal control system wherein sets of traffic signals are controlled according to one or more predetermined plans, the system comprises an integrated circuit store at each of two or more sets of signals and it is arranged that each store operates in synchronism with the frequency of an electrical mains supply. Each store may be a re-circulating shift register store or a random access store. A crystal-controlled oscillator may be added to compensate for missing or additional pulses from a generator synchronized to the mains frequency when the pulse repetition frequency falls outside predetermined limits. A "green wave" may be arranged. Information words and time settings provide for (a) each intersection incorporating a filter lane and (b) plans for different traffic conditions, e.g. "off-peak".
