Abstract
1431556 Moulding high vinyl butadiene polymer compositions BP CHEMICALS INTERNATIONAL Ltd 4 May 1973 [5 May 1972] 21068/72 Heading B5A Thermosetting moulding compositions based on butadiene polymers containing at least 25% of 1,2-bonded units and a particulate inorganic filler are moulded under heat and pressure in a matched metal mould, at least some of the filler particles having a particle diameter greater than the width of the flash channel of the mould. The primary filler preferably comprises spherical glass beads and the composition may also contain fibrous reinforcing filler. The butadiene may be copolymerized with, e.g., styrene, vinyl toluene, diethyl fumarate or maleate, dibutyl fumarate, acrylamide or N,N<SP>1</SP>-methylene bisacrylamide. The composition may also contain a free radical initiator, a shrink controller, lubricant and mould release agent.
