Abstract

1431336 Diterpenoid triepoxides S M KUPCHAN 3 April 1973 15961/73 Heading C2U [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises triptolide (I; R= H), tripdiolide (I; R=OH) and triptonide (II) and their isolation from Tripterygium wilfordii Hook by extraction with an alkanol and working up the extract by a number of steps involving partitioning, chromatography and crystallization. Triptolide and triptonide are interconvertible by oxidation and reduction. Injectable antileukaemic compositions comprise triptolide or tripdiolide and a earlier, optionally with other specified active ingredients.
