1430446 Treating water K W BENTFORS and H H GUSTAFSON 27 June 1973 [30 June 1972] 30524/73 Heading C1C [Also in Division A4] A hydrophobic viscous substance is absorbed by admixing therewith a dry cellulosic flock obtained by mechanically finely dividing newsprint or other paper, cardboard waste or paper waste. The method may be applied to absorbing oil spills on water, and the oil may be recovered by self-draining, pressing or centrifuging. The method may also be applied to liquid residues such as paints or glues to turn them into a solid form easier to dispose of.
