Abstract

1430272 Facsimile transmission apparatus; synchronizing; variable delay systems RICOH KK 13 April 1973 [28 April 1972] 17861/73 Headings H4F H4P and H4R A synchronizing system for facsimile transmission apparatus or magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus in which groups of data signals and corresponding synchronization pulses are cyclically produced, wherein each or each but one data signal in each group is delayed by an amount corresponding to the amount by which it is out of synchronism with its synchronization pulse. A facsimile apparatus is described in which a pair of line period video signals and a pair of corresponding sync. pulses are cyclically produced by a rotary drum arrangement including two diametrically opposed slits which sequentially scan a document, the sync. pulses being produced by sync. marks on a flange on the drum as they move past a read-out means. The video signals are passed to two channels, and assuming one video signal of each pair is in synchronism with its associated sync. pulse, the other video signal is delayed to bring it into synchronism with its sync. pulse. Alternatively both video signals of each pair may be appropriately delayed. The delaying means may comprise a pair of the monostable multivibrators triggering a bi-stable multivibrator, each pulse of the video signal being regenerated with the appropriate delay. Alternately the delaying means may comprise a delay line or shift register.
