Abstract

1429584 Transfer printing of textiles BAYER AG 10 May 1974 [12 May 1973] 20764/74 Heading D1B Textile fibre materials capable of being dyed with basic dyes are transfer printed using sublimable diphenylmethane or triphenylmethane dyes of formula: in which R 1 R 2 R 3 and R 4 are independantly hydrogen or an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl radical, Y is hydrogen or a halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group, B is hydrogen or an aryl group, X 1 is hydrogen or an alkyl group, X 2 is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, heteryl or acyl group, Z is a hydrogen atom or in which X 1 and X 2 conjointly with the nitrogen atom form the remaining members of a saturated heterocyclic structure, and/or R 1 and/or R 3 conjointly with the Z form an ethylene or propylene group. Acid modified textile material is preferably printed e.g. acid modified polyester and polyamide. Printing inks employed on temporary supports comprise a dye as above, which sublimes at 160-240‹C, an organic solvent and a resin soluble in the organic solvent.
