Abstract

1429224 Core constructions for dynamoelectric machines SAIA AG 1 May 1973 [9 May 1972] 20722/73 Heading H2A The stator magnetic circuit of an electric motor, including the magnetic return path between stator poles of opposite polarity, is made of two portions only, the portions having axially extending poles adjacent the motor rotor and being identical as to the disposition of poles thereon and having identical parts for positioning the portions relative to one another and for connecting them together. As shown, the two stator portions may each have a group of main poles 6 and a group of auxiliary poles 5. Each portion has slots 7 and an axially extending part 10 which has lugs 8 and forms the magnetic return path between the stator portions. In the assembled motor, the lugs 8 of one portion engage the slots 7 of the other. A coil carrier mounted between the stator portions has lugs 9 for mounting the motor on a support. The motor includes a short circuit disc associated with the auxiliary poles of one or both stator portions. Formulae are given for determining the relative angular spacing of the poles on the stator portions. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown), the auxiliary poles are omitted. In a further modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), each stator portion has two groups of main poles and two groups of auxiliary poles.
