1428409 Pentachlorothiophenol IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 14 Sept 1973 [20 Sept 1972] 43532/72 Heading C2C Pentachlorothiophenol is prepared by a method comprising reacting hexachlorobenzene with sodium sulphide or sodium hydrosulphide at 50-200‹ C. in an alkanolamine. The alkanolamine may be, for example, tri-isopropanolamine, diethanolamine, methyl diethanolamine and, preferably, triethanolamine.
