Abstract
1427766 Fixed resistors KISHINEVSKY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT ELEKTROPRIBOROSTROENIYA 17 Dec 1973 58406/73 Heading H1S A high-voltage resistor unit comprises a chain of series-connected resistors each comprising a resistive winding 3 on the surface of a hollow insulating cylinder 2 which is screened by a further insulating cylinder 5 which has a winding 6 on its surface. The resistors are contained in a metal casing 11 filled with liquid dielectric 12, the space between cylinders 2, 5 being sealed by ring packings 7. Windings 3, 6, which are of glass-insulated wire, are serially-connected to respective leads 9, 10, and their resistances are distributed so that when a voltage is applied to the leads 9 and 10 the potential at adjacent points of the two windings is approximately the same. Electrodes 8, connected to the ends of windings 6, prevent the windings 3 from being shunted by the liquid dielectric 11. The resistor unit may be employed in high-voltage measuring systems.
