Abstract

1427224 Hydraulic power take-offs NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 31 May 1973 [8 June 1972] 26049/73 Heading B7H In a motor vehicle hydraulic circuit 34 comprising a pump 13 supplying fluid from a reservoir 12 through an unloading valve 16 to an accumulator 18 which feeds one or more hydraulic power systems 20 such as a power braking system, steering system, a gear shifting system or a hydraulic suspension system, there is provided power take-off means 35 comprising supply and return pipes 36, 38 branching from the circuit 34 and terminating in rapidly disconnectible couplings 42, 46 for connecting an external hydraulically-power device such as a hydraulic jack 53 to the circuit. Associated with the couplings 42, 46 are valves 54, 56 which may be stop valves, flow metering valves or throttling valves and can be used to manually shut off the pipes 36, 38 when the jack 53 is not connected thereto. When the jack 53 is connected to the hydraulic circuit, opening of only the valve 54 raises the jack, and subsequent closure of the valve 54 and opening of the valve 56 lowers the jack.
