Abstract

A process for producing expanded polyethylene is described. The starting material used is a polyethylene modified by the presence of uniformly distributed unsaturation along the macromolecular chain. The product obtained shows excellent resistance to chemical and atmospheric agents, low water absorption, high water vapour impermeability and good heat stability.
