Abstract

1427136 Silos HOWARD HARVESTORE Ltd 15 May 1973 [16 Feb 1972] 7108/72 Heading E1T In a silo for storing moist material the inside wall of the silo is provided with vertically arranged drainage ducts 15 having inlet holes 19 spaced therealong, discharge being effectedfor example through pipes 21, 22, 23, 24 communicating with a ring main having a U-bend to prevent ingress of air, see also Fig. 1 of Provisional Specification (not shown). The ducts are bolted or otherwise secured to the silo wall and may discharge into a conduit extending around the internal periphery of the container, the said conduit being defined by an inclined plate secured to the base of the container and the internal wall and the said conduit communicating with a discharge pipe passing through said wall, see Fig. 6 (not shown). The container may be made from curved sheets of steel which are coated with glass, enamel or plastics and bolted to-gether. Alternatively the container may be made of plastics, concrete or metal sheets welded to-gether. For minor details of materials employed, arrangements of discharge pipes, clearing rod 28, and application to crops the Specification and remaining Provisional Drawings, (not shown), should be referred to.
