1427091 Packaging pasty and tacky foods N CORAZZA 27 Feb 1973 [29 Feb 1972] 9616/73 Heading B8C Pasty and tacky food products are packaged in a cup formed from a substantially rectangular sheet (1) of thermoweldable material having a longitudinal tear strip (8), Fig. 4 (not shown), attached to its inner surface and being formed into a tube with one of its ends folded, the overlapping portions being thermowelded. A second sheet 6 of thermoweldable material having the shape of the internal cross-sectional area of the cup is placed over the product when filled into the cup so formed and the edge portions of the cup are folded on to the sheet 6 and thermowelded to it. The package may be circular, rectangular or substantially triangular in cross-section, the sheet (1), Fig. 1 (not shown), in the latter case having one longitudinal edge (2) in the shape of a shallow V. A label (17), Fig. 7A (not shown), may be glued on to the base of the cup over the folded edges (2).
