Abstract

1426488 Roofs DAIMLER-BENZ AG 17 July 1973 [18 July 1972] 33985/73 Heading B7B A vehicle body, particularly the cab of a lorry, has a roof opening which may be covered by a hatch cover and an air-conditioning equipment which may be used as alternative superposed elements, adapted to be fixed to roof struts 3, 4 which, at least partially, bound the roof opening. As shown in Fig. 1 the roof structure also includes a roof skin 9 and an interior roof lining 8. The roof skin 9 is supported on flanges 12, 13 formed on limbs 10, 11 of lateral roof struts 4, whereas the skin 9 does not overlap the innermost limb 22, Fig. 4, of the longitudinal roof struts 3, the exposed limb 22 serving as a fixing arm for fixing the hatch cover or the air conditioning element, by means of an angle piece 23 and screws 24. Sealing elements 15, 16, Fig. 1, are in engagement on the upturned flange of skin 9 and on the hatch cover 6 respectively, or flanges (18), Fig. 3 (not shown), of the air conditioning equipment are supported on the roof skin via sealing element (19) and spaced from the flange 14 of skin 9. A perforated cover means (26) screens the roof hatch from the passenger compartment.
