Abstract
1425318 Microporous membranes CHEMICAL SYSTEMS INC 18 Dec 1972 [16 Dec 1971] 58440/72 Heading B2E [Also in Division B5] In the preparation of a microporous membrane a solution of 5% polymethylene terephthalate and 5% polyvinylpyrrolidone and 90% hexafluoroisopropanol was cast onto a glass plate, evaporated and the resultant film was coated by casting a 1% solution of cellulose acetate in 49.5% hexafluoroisopropanol and 49.5% methylene chloride. The polyvinylpyrrolidone was later leached from the composite film. Similarly a mixture of polyester and polyvinyl alcohol was cast onto a backing of another polyester.
