Abstract

1424713 Selective signalling NSM APPARATEBAU GmbH KG 13 Feb 1973 [26 Feb 1972] 6875/73 Heading G4H Apparatus for controlling the program sequence of an automatically operating device 32, e.g. a fruit machine having four indicating wheels 33, comprises means 1-5 which sequentially apply pulses to the columns 6 of a programmable matrix 7 and a control 9 which sequentially pulses row lines 10-12 during each column pulse, the resulting output signals from the matrix serving to control the device. Upon activation of the device, clock pulses are converted at 2 to binary signals 3 which are decoded at 5 to provide 32 sequential outputs 6. The outputs from matrix 7 (see Fig. 3) are fed to step ring-counters 20, the outputs from which being fed through AND-gates 19 (Fig. 4, not shown) to provide the control pulses; there are four signals per output 10-13 per sequence for providing two pairs of start/stop signals per wheel. A further control 14 provides additional pulses 15 which may be used to control, e.g. means 35 for indicating when a user of the device can stop it (so that the dials indicate a winning combination): a random generator 28 ensures that the dials are then stopped only after a random number of pulses of the control sequence.
