Abstract

1424604 Aerials JAYBEAM Ltd 24 July 1974 [10 Aug 1973] 38080/73 Heading H4A An aerial comprises a tubular boom 10 and at least one transversely disposed aerial element 12, having a pair of longitudinal flanges 14, 16 extending throughout its length which are interconnected by a web 24 to form a channel section. Either the boom 10 is slotted to receive the flanges 14, 16 or said flanges are cut out at the centre of the element to receive the boom. The element is thus locatable transversely and non-rotatably with respect to the boom, and may be secured thereto by means of a central screw 28, or other means such as, by tabs formed in the flanges which are received in corresponding slots in the member and which are bent over inside the member. As shown, strengthening ribs 22 are provided between the web 24 and the flanges 14, 16. Parts of the web 24 away from the centre of the element may be removed if desired.
