Abstract
1424265 Photographic diffusion transfer film unit containing a bonding layer POLAROID CORP 16 April 1973 [24 April 1972] 18133/73 Heading G2C A photographic diffusion transfer film unit comprises a laminate comprising, in order, a first transparent support, an image-receiving layer, a photo-sensitive silver halide layer and a second support, and a rupturable container containing a processing composition coupled to the supports in a position to discharge its liquid contents between two layers of the laminate and these two layers are laminated directly or through a bonding layer by a bond that is weaker, upon the discharge of processing composition, than the bonds between other layers in the film unit, a reagent that affects the image that is formed upon exposure and processing or that improves image stability being present in the bonding layer or in the case of direct lamination a reagent to suppress triboluminescence upon delamination of the two layers that occurs on spreading the processing composition between them being present in either or both of the two layers. The reagent may suppress triboluminescence and may be the ammonium salt of perfluorooctanoic acid or may be an ultraviolet absorber or antifoggant. The bonding layer may comprise a water-soluble polymer e.g. polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight of 6,000 to 7,500. The photo-sensitive silver halide layer may comprise red-, green-and blue-sensitive silver halide layers having associated therewith cyan, magenta and yellow dye image providing material'respectively: The dye image providing material may be a dye-developer. The two layers may be between the blue-sensitive silver halide layer and the imagereceiving layer or the support closest to the bluesensitive layer. Triboluminescence is luminescence or light resulting from an electrical discharge, an electrical charge having been generated by frictional forces.
