Abstract

1424124 Crop or row cultivators D C NIXON 17 Jan 1973 2401/73 Heading A1B A crop or row cultivator comprises at least one first tool blade support 38 which is pivotally mounted to one end of a vertical cultivator shank 24 via a mounting 28 to which it is releasably attached and which is also resiliently mounted to the other end of the shank via a pivoted spring 32. A second tool blade support 48, 54 extends rearwardly and downwardly from the first support and includes clamps 56, 62 by which the angle of working can be varied. The blades 44, 60 of each associated first and second supports are oppositely inclined to the direction of travel. Each blade 44 moves stones, debris etc away from the crops whilst each blade 60 moves fresh soil onto the crops. The shank 24 is secured to a standard 16 which can be rotated to alter the angle of working. The depth of working can also be altered by adjusting the blades. Shims may be fitted to the blades and a weeding disc can be attached forward of the standard 16.
