Abstract

1423810 Triazole azo cationic dyestuffs SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 26 Feb 1974 [27 Feb 1973] 8741/74 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs of the formula (wherein R 1 and R 2 are both CH 3 or both C 2 H 5 , R 2 being on the 1- or 2-N atom, R 3 is C 1-4 alkyl, cyanoethyl or benzyl, and X<SP>(-)</SP> is an anion) are prepared by coupling diazotized 3- amino - 1,2,4 - triazole with an appropriate N- cyclohexyl - N - R 3 - aniline and then alkylating the product. They are used for dyeing acidmodified polyester fibres in red shades and are shown to be superior in dyeability to corresponding dyestuffs containing an alkyl group in place of the cyclohexyl group.
