Abstract

1423656 Air cushion vehicles BRITISH HOVERCRAFT CO Ltd 27 April 1973 [22 May 1972] 23876/72 Heading B7K A flexible skirt 11, preferably for attachment to a wheeled vehicle to enclose an air cushion for relieving the wheels of part of their load, is formed on its ground-engaging face with shoes 13 each provided with a wear-resisting plate 17 formed with spigots 18 which pass through the shoe and are secured by circlips or split pins to enable worn plates to be replaced readily. A flexible strip 20 is secured to the inner edge of each shoe to be acted upon by cushion pressure, thereby urging the shoe into contact with the ground. A drag line 21 may be attached to each shoe.
