Abstract
1423419 Aerating liquids R KULISCH 13 Aug 1973 [25 Nov 1972] 38178/73 Heading B1C [Also in Division A4] A bath mat designed to aerate the bath water comprises a plurality of articulately connected mat sections 10, each including a plurality of spaced members 11 defining an upper support surface of the mat and a perforated -pipe section 16 located between each pair of adjacent members 11, the pipe sections 16 of one mat section being connected to the respective pipe sections of an adjacent mat section by respective flexible hose section 21 bridging the articulate connection formed by a flexible hinge 29. The sections 16 lie below the mat support surface and an enlarged bore (18), Fig. 2 (not shown) at the end of each section 16 receives, where appropriate, an extension (22), Fig. 5 (not shown) of a hose section 21. Each member 11 may be connected to the member 11 of an adjacent mat section by a separate joint or adjacent mat sections may be connected by a single joint. The sections 31 are perforated and are bonded or welded to the sections 16 and enable the mat to be used in baths having different depths without loss of aeration. The assembled mat is terminated by an air distributor 30 and valves are provided to regulate the air flow to pipe sections individually or in groups. The diameter of openings 19 may be varied and fewer openings 19 are provided in the sections adjacent the end of the mat. Each hose section 21 may be provided with fins (21a), Fig. 9 (not shown).
