Abstract
1423073 Amino group-containing thioethers and derivatives thereof CIBA-GEIGY AG 17 Jan 1974 [17 Jan 1973 26 Oct 1973] 02187/74 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) (including salts thereof): where Alk 1 is alkyl, alk 2 is alkylene, Ph is optionally substituted p-phenylene and R is alkyl or aralkyl, as well as their condensates with aldehydes, ketones and carbonic acid (i.e. the -CHOH.CH 2 -NHR moiety is converted to an oxazolidine or oxazolidin-2-one group), are made by standard methods. The following compounds are also prepared: 5 - [(4 - hydroxy - phenoxy) - methyl] - 3 - isopropyl oxazolidin - 2 - one, MeS(CH 2 ) 2 O-Ph-O-CH 2 CHOHCH 2 NH 2 , MeS(CH 2 ) 2 or 3 -O-Ph-OH, MeS(CH 2 ) 2 or 3 -O-Ph-O-CH 2 -oxirane, MeS(CH 2 ) 2 -O-Ph-O-CH 2 CHOHCH 2 Cl, 2 - [4 - (3 - bromopropoxy) - phenoxy] - tetrahydropyran and 2 - (4 - benzyloxy and -hydroxyphenoxy)-tetrahydropyrans. Pharmaceutical preparations useful as cardioselective antagonists of adrenergic #-receptor stimulants, e.g. for treating arrhythmias and angina pectoris contain (I) and/or their condensates as active ingredient.
