Abstract
142,207. British Thomson - Houston Co., (General Electric Co.). Feb. 7, 1919. Vacuum tubes.-A grid 4, Fig. 2, is wound around a frame 11 along the outer surface of the sides of which extend two closely-wound wire helices 20, so that at least one turn of each helix is interposed between the adjacent turns of the grid. The frame may be secured to a split cylinder 12 clamped by a band 14, Fig. 1, around a projection on the bulb. The anode consists of two plates 5 of tungsten or molydenum spaced by a forked rod 6 and secured to another projection on the bulb. Connexion with the frame is made by flexible leads 22. The cathode consists of a W-shaped filament 2 supported by hooks 17 on an insulating-tube 18 secured by wire to the frame.
