Abstract

1422004 Top-access cabinet; counterbalancing ING C OLIVETTI & C SpA 28 March 1973 [6 April 1972] 14943/73 Headings B8P and B8B [Also in Division E2] A top-access cabinet includes a bail 24 which has a cross-piece 26 pivotally connected to a lid 15 and two arms 24<SP>1</SP> pivotally connected to opposed side walls (12), Fig. 3 (not shown), of the cabinet, and a spring 28 tensioned between a partition 20 and a bail arm 24<SP>1</SP> for counterbalancing the lid 15 in all positions between its fully open and closed positions shown in the Figure. Plastics front and rear support pads 32, 39 for the lid 15 are fixed at the upper corners of the cabinet and the rear pads 32 include slots 37 and projections 34 for locating the lid in its closed position. The top peripheral edge of the cabinet includes a groove for mounting suspended files. The cabinet is mounted on castors and an open fronted compartment 22 may be provided below the partition 20.
